YIZUMI’s First 5500T Injection Molding Machine Heads to Algeria

2026-06-23

Recently, YIZUMI has further advanced its global expansion with the shipment of a UN5500D1L ultra-large injection molding machine to Algeria, a key gateway market in North Africa.

As YIZUMI’s first 5,500-ton class machine delivered to an overseas market, it is also the largest-tonnage equipment the company has exported to date, demonstrating its growing capability to support large-scale manufacturing projects worldwide.

Once in operation, the machine will support YIZUMI’s broader global applications in large-tonnage equipment. General Manager of Injection Molding Machine Division and International Business Division, Mr. James Zhang emphasized, "In this strategic hub connecting Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, it will stand as a new symbol of Chinese intelligent manufacturing."

01.「North Africa’s Logistics Boom Drives Equipment Upgrades」

In recent years, the continued growth of the logistics and manufacturing sectors in North Africa has driven increasing demand for plastic products such as pallets, turnover boxes, and large logistics containers. At the same time, the region’s proximity to Europe has strengthened its role as a manufacturing hub, attracting industrial investment and supply chain relocation from Europe.

These market shifts are reshaping customer priorities. Rather than focusing solely on procurement costs, manufacturers are placing greater emphasis on delivery efficiency, product consistency, and scalable production capacity.

This trend is particularly evident in orders for the European market, where requirements for product standardization, high-volume delivery, and quality consistency are especially demanding. As a result, local manufacturers are investing in larger-tonnage, higher-performance injection molding equipment to expand production capacity and improve manufacturing efficiency.

The customer behind the purchase of the UN5500D1L reflects this trend. Specializing in plastic logistics products for customers across North Africa and Europe, the company increasingly focuses on production efficiency, operational stability, and long-term competitiveness than cost alone. Its investment in the UN5500D1L supports both its growing domestic business and its ambitions within regional and European supply chains.

02.「Engineering Large-Part Manufacturing Challenges」

Following the installation of the UN5500D1L, the customer will primarily produce heavy-duty plastic pallets, large storage turnover boxes, and specialized load-bearing containers. These large logistics products serve both the Algerian market and supply chains across North Africa and Europe.

Manufacturing such large-scale parts presents challenges throughout the entire production process, from melt filling through to part ejection and final output.

  • Filling Uniformity: Large part size and complex wall thickness variations require highly stable and uniform melt filling. Any imbalance in flow can lead to warpage, sink marks, or inconsistent structural strengh.

  • Mechanical Performance: Heavy-duty, cyclic applications require a balance between lightweight design and excellent impact resistance, as well as long-term fatigue durability.

  • Machine Stability: Due to long cycle times and high part weights, the machine must maintain stable clamping force, injection performance, and system response under continuous high-load operation.

At the process level, stable injection control systems, precise temperature and pressure regulation, high-quality screw plasticizing performance, and accurate holding control are all essential. As a result, large-scale production of such parts cannot rely on machine tonnage alone, but also requires comprehensive performance in precision, stability, and process adaptability.

03.「Technology and Service Behind Customer Confidence」

Designed for demanding large-part applications, the UN5500D1L maintains stable, consistent, and controllable molding performance even under high-load and long-stroke operating conditions.

Mr. James Zhang noted, “The competitiveness of ultra-large injection molding equipment is not defined by a single technical specification. Rather, it is measured by the combination of machine reliability, process adaptability, and lifecycle service capabilities.”

YIZUMI has built extensive expertise in ultra-large injection molding machines, spanning two-platen architecture, servo-hydraulic efficiency optimization, advanced process control, and a growing global service network. The successful delivery of its self-developed 8,500-ton machine in 2023 validated the company’s technology roadmap for ultra-large equipment. Today, the UN5500D1L builds on that foundation, demonstrating further advances in energy efficiency, structural rigidity, and operational stability.

Beyond machine performance, YIZUMI supports customers throughout the production lifecycle—from solution planning and project validation to ongoing optimization after delivery—helping translate technical expertise into reliable production outcomes and long-term customer value.

This combination of technical expertise and service support played an important role in securing the project.

04.「One Machine, a Broader Market Vision」

The UN5500D1L ultra-large injection molding machine is not only YIZUMI’s first 5,500-ton class equipment delivered overseas, but also a flagship large-tonnage machine currently operating in Algeria. Its deployment establishes a strong benchmark for the local plastics processing and logistics manufacturing industry.

For the customer, the UN5500D1L enhances production efficiency and strengthens its ability to support both domestic demand and export-oriented growth.

Mr. James Zhang noted: “The global market for ultra-large injection molding machines above 4000 tons has long been dominated by European brands. For Chinese manufacturers to enter this segment, technological advancement alone is not enough. Customer confidence must also be built through proven applications.” The successful deployment of the UN5500D1L demonstrates YIZUMI’s ability to reliably support the operation of 5,500-ton class equipment in overseas markets.

He further noted that North Africa, as a manufacturing hub connecting Europe and Africa, will be an important region for YIZUMI to strengthen its presence through the deployment of the 5,500-ton machine. The project also creates opportunities for future expansion into larger machines, turnkey solutions, and system-level manufacturing projects. It also reflects YIZUMI’s ongoing transition from an equipment supplier to a provider of integrated manufacturing solutions.

Looking ahead, YIZUMI will continue to expand its global presence and support customers worldwide with advanced manufacturing solutions.
